What’s MCCB?

MCCB is the short form for a molded case circuit breaker. It is used to protect the electric circuit from the flowing of excessive current which can further cause damages such as overload and short circuit. They are being used for a wide range of frequencies with the current rating up to 2500A and adjustable trip settings.

MCCBs(MCCB molded case circuit breaker) are used in high energy requirement regions such as high-power equipment in industries or commercial purpose.

It is also of low voltage to meet IEC947 standards.

The molded case circuit breaker’s trip characteristics can be adjusted.

Why do we need mccbs?

For few special applications, manufacturers recommend to use MCCBs dedicated to that application. For Ex. For motor back up protection there is a requirement for overload protection of motor, it is required to match the overload settings of MCCB with that of motor. This solution assures no damage to the motor in case of motor overloading.
