What are RCBOs?

The residual current device (RCD) or residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) enables the rapid disconnection of electricity, thereby avoiding prolonged and potentially serious shocks. An RCD device complete with overcurrent protection is called an RCBO(RCBO residual current overcurrent protection), or residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection.

The advantage of an RCBO is that it only trips out the circuit with the earth fault, whereas an RCD protecting several circuits will cut power to all the circuits it is protecting. You don't want all your circuits on just one RCD, or you will lose all your circuits together if there is an earth fault. Not considered to be good practise.
